Visio 2003 drawing problem

I have a rather large drawing in which I cannot select any of the shapes my
clicking and dragging my mouse. It works fine on all my other drawings, but
this one won't let me do it. I am able to select an object if I click on it,
but I want to be able to drag a square around all the shapes I want to select
and have them become highlighted so I can move them together. Any ideas?

Does Ctrl-A work? Also try Tools > Options > General > Select Shapes
Partially Within Area.
