Visio 2003 EMF export problem

Since switching from Visio 2000 to Visio 2003, we've found a problem with
the EMF export. Quite often text is overprinted to some degree (e.g. the
first few characters of one sentence overprint the last few characters of
the previous sentence). All the text is in the same text-box.

I've tried several commercial EMF viewers to ensure the problem is not due
to our rendering of the EMF, but unless every EMF viewer on the market, I
can find, is crippled with the same problem, it would seem that Visio is
doing something wrong.

I would go back to Visio 2000, but we have hundreds of drawings and there
doesn't seem to be a way in Visio 2003 of saving a drawing in Visio 2000
format.

Thanks
Jeremy

I recently encountered a problem with Visio 2003 and EMF export as well. The
Windows Metafile (WMF) is working okay for me; I don't know the difference
between them.

Supposedly Visio 2002 and Visio 2003 now use GDI+ to export EMFs.

If you import the EMF's into Word 2003, they display correctly, but I
understand Word 2003 and Visio 2003 share a common import/export engine and
also a common rendering engine, so that's hardly a surprise.

If you import the EMF's into Word 97, say, they don't work. I've also tried
various 3rd party EMF viewers and all have the same problem too.

Microsoft PSS are looking at the problem for me (they have reproduced it),
though if it's a problem in GDI+, my money is on it not getting fixed.
