Visio 2003 Enterprise Architect unable to export database schema

Hello,

I've just used the Enterprise Architect version to draw out an ERD for my
next dB design, only to realize that at the end, there is no
Database->Generate selection. Can someone please explain why this is the
case? Thanks.

In my experience it is usually due to either the user doesn't have the real
visio enterprise product, or they didn't use the correct stencil (I think
it's the database model one).

Hello,

I am using the database model stencil, and Help->About does indeed say
"Microsoft Office Visio for Enterprise Architects (11.7218.8132) SP2". Any
ideas why the generate dB functionality is missing?

It's an add-in (data base model) that should have been installed if you did
a full install. So it sounds like it falls into the area of the code may not
be installed (or can't be found), or the system is not letting it executed.

Hello,

Okay so I need to re-install again. However, I'm not sure which disc I
installed it from. The software was installed during either the SQL 2005 or
VS 2005 but I can't find Visio again in either of the disc's setup. Would
you happen to know?

Hello,

Okay I found it. But when I tried to install it, all the components were
selected to be running from my computer. So I'm sure it'd have been
installed. Is there some way to check precisely whether it is installed or
if it is, why it's not executing? It is the same for both my work PC
(installed with a Visio for Enterprise Architect disc) and my home PC
(installed from VS 2005 Team Edition for Software Testers). Is this a bug?
Thanks.
