Visio 2003 for Enterprise Architects db generation troubleshootin

I've been using Visio 2003 EA to design and generate tables for a SQL2k db,
via ODBC connection. I've had no problems doing this and have created and
recreated tables in the target db, until suddenly, yesterday, the
functionality just stopped working. Now, I run Generate or Update and at
best I get the following lines in the output window:

G:\Documents and Settings\Byron_Gibson\My
Documents\Hawaiian\HMDM\Region\Region.vsd: Starting Microsoft SQL Server
Physical Validation ...
G:\Documents and Settings\Byron_Gibson\My
Documents\Hawaiian\HMDM\Region\Region.vsd: Physical Validation Completed - 0
Errors 0 Warnings.

And then nothing, not the usual line-by-line report of the db creation
process, and no tables created in the actual database. Further, after
running Generate and getting this result, the entire Database menu becomes
completely unresponsive, meaning I can click the menu and it drops down as
normal, but clicking any of its options results in nothing. There is no
error message to guide me in troubleshooting, so I'm posting here. Anyone
have any idea what the problem might be? Thanks!

I've run the Generate tool again, which failed, and let it sit while I moved
on to other tasks. I just returned to Visio and tried to Database->Generate
again, and now I see the original two line message has repeated itself many
times. I don't understand why, though. There are no errors, either here or
in the system or application event logs, on my workstation or on the db
server, or even any references to this, so I'm still not sure how to proceed
with troubleshooting. Maybe it's a connectivity problem, but I can
successfully create a db connection and log in as sa. Any ideas on how to
troubleshoot this would be much appreciated. Thanks!
