Visio 2003 hyperlinks

Using Visio 2003, I've created a process map with many hyperlinks to .pdf
documents using icons on shapes. No problem. However, I want to copy/paste
this 2-pg .vsd doc into a Word doc, .pdf the entire doc., and have active
hyperlinks. The hyperlinks are lost upon going into Word. Also, they are
lost when I try to .pdf just the .vsd file. I tried saving the process map
as a web page, but links do not function then either. Looking for any
feasible method to do this. Thanks.

When you say that you have put the hyperlinks on icons in the shapes, could
it be that thy are really part of a group shape?
If so, I can understand that you can sub-select them in Visio, but the pdf
export and save as web will hide them.
If this is the case, then you really need to have the icons as shapes on
heir own, They could have their PinX/PinY formulae modified to be relative
to the process shape that they belong to, so that they always move with it.

If I have misunderstood, then are the hyperlinks relative or absolute?

Thanks David. The icons on shapes are independent. When I created them, I
just pulled them (Hyperlink circle 1) from the Shapes window and entered the
path. I can drag them off the shapes and they work the same as on. That
said, is there another reason we lose the link during copy/paste to Word or
when converted to .pdf? Do you know of another way to execute?

If they are top of another shape, then I guess that they could be being
"masked" by that shape's region.
If you move one of these shapes away from other shapes, do they maintain
their hyperlink.

I once had a border shape that ostensibly had no fill, but it effectively
masked other shapes' hyperlinks, when exported to pdf, because it was added
after them.
The answer was to add the border first; delete it; or ensure that there
really was no fill via the shapesheet.
