I have a stencil shape (from a previous Visio version) with custom
properties and it represents a single row of a grid with 5 columns
(rectangles). I'm trying to reduce the width of the row but I'm having
problems using the shape after I've updated the master. If I restart Visio
then the shape is correct when editing the master but the problem is still
there.
When I try and drag the master onto a document it appears with the original
width. If I click on the shape, the "Special" properties show it as a group
and Master="My master:ThePage". If I click on the shape again I can see a
2nd group and in the "Special" properties I can see Master="My
master:Sheet.N". The custom properties appear when the 2nd group is
selected.
I do the following to when editing the master:-
1) Ungroup the shapes (column rectangles). (This is because I don't want to
reduce the column widths.)
2) Go to the Page Setup and reduce the custom width. (The page is the size
of the row)
3) Select the cells and group them.
4) Add the custom properties to the group.
Why are there 2 groups of shapes and why do I see the old (wider) shape?
