Visio 2003: Open Help independly from the App/Help Search

Hello,

is there any way to open the two Help-files
- Microsoft Office Visio Automation Reference
- Microsoft Office Visio ShapeSheet Reference
independly from the App?
In directory \1033 are a lot of *.chm-files, is there any
documentation
available?

When I open the "Developer Reference" (Help), Search seems not to work
(I mean should search only in the two above mentioned Help-files).

In Visio2003, doubleclick the file icon of VIS_SDR.CHM and VIS_DSS.CHM.
In Visio2007, I could not found the way.

An alternative for Visio2007 is click VisSDK.chm that is in Visio2007 SDK.
TheFolder may be in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\VisSDK\Docs.

Yes, sorry, but there's no way to open Help files in Office 2007
applications outside of the application. They are no longer .chm files.

Saul - whilst we have your attention about help files:
I, and other developers, really miss the Developer Reference help file.
The new Visio 2007 way of searching help is not as good as the old tree view
chm file.
I used to spend many happy minutes quickly browsing through the functions
and objects by exploring the hierachical tree view - now you need to know
what you are looking for first.
