Visio 2003 Org Chart Wizard

Hello,

I am trying to create org charts using the org chart wizard in Visio 2003. I
have my data file and I can get through the wizard okay to create the charts.
However, I have some employees who are administrative assistants and I want
them to appear as assistants in the org chart. However, when the chart is
created they appear on the same line as the other employees (for example, as
the directors or managers). I have a column in my data file that states
whether the employee is a manager, executive, position, assistant, or a
vacancy.

Is there a way for me to still use the org chart wizard and for the
assistants to appear as an assistant shape on the org chart? I have 44 pages
(about 800 employees) to chart so I don't want to do this manually.

Thanks for your help!

Run the orgchart Wizard and let it create a sample diagram. Add the extra
shape types for the positions you need (Use a name for the person that is
similar to the position). Export to Excel and then take a look at the Excel
spreadsheet.

There should be a column for Master Shape. If you labeled the person names
as suggested, you should be able to work out what numbers go with what
position types.
