CAUSE:
=======
When Visio restart after customizing tool bar, an add-on used b
Adobe
Acrobat to
put its tool bar and menu in Visio 2003, resets the Visio toolbar
to
default setting.
RESOLUTION 1:
==============
1. From the tools Menu > Options, Advanced Tab, Select Put al
settings in
the
Windows Registry
If you have Adobe Acrobat Professional installed on your computer
and the
customization of the toolbar does not stay, then
To resolve the issue, Follow these steps:
Close Visio if running
1. From the Control Panel, Open Add or Remove Programs
2. Select Adobe Acrobat Professional, Change button
3. In the Adobe Acrobat Setup wizard, Click on Next
4. Select Modify and Click on Next
5. Expand Create Adobe PDF > Expand Create Adobe PDFMaker > Click on
Microsoft
Visio and in the menu that drops down, Select This feature will no
be
available
6. Click on Next and Click on Update
7. Next click on Finish to finish the settings
8. Restart Visio, Customize a toolbar, close Visio and re-launc
Visio
The customization is still there.
Note: The documents can still be printed to an Adobe PDF file fro
the File
Menu >
Print > Select Adobe PDF from the printer driver
RESOLUTION 2:
==============
To resolve the issue, delete "pdfmvisio.vsl", it is an Adobe Acroba
add-on
for
Visio to display Acrobat toolbar and menu items.
Steps:
1. Search for "pdfmvisio.vsl"
2. Rename or move the file to some other locations.
3. Launch Visio 2003. You may get a error message, like "unable t
load
Adobe
Acrobat add-on". Click OK to continue.
4. To avoid this error message, re-install Visio.
RESOLUTION 3: (This applies to Visio 2002 only)
===========================================
Adobe PDF maker installs a .vsl file or a .dll file in the startu
folder
Steps:
1. Check for the existence of a .vsl or a .dll file in th
"C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Visio10\1033\startup" directory
2. Found the .dll for the PDF maker which was moved on to anothe
directory
3. Started Visio and checked for the PDF maker toolbar
4. Created a new custom toolbar, exit Visio and restarted
