Visio 2003 Pro, Db Model Diagram, relationship text

If you click the toolbar 'text' tool then click a relationship line, you can
add text to the line - sweet! This allows me to specify on the diagram which
pieces of data are related between any two entities (since you apparently
can't print this out and it's no rendered to a save as web page).

If I add or remove an association in the relationship line, the text I've
entered disappears.

The Database Options Document Relationships is set to show relationships
only with no text.

Is there any way to make Visio stop taking my text away OR to generate a
report that shows which fields in linked entities are related (from searching
this last one is No unless I buy EA)? I'm about ready to just switch to
building a flowchart instead of using the Db Model.

TIA for any tips.

The shapes in the Database Modeling solutions are controlled by the
solution, so it is by design that they will remove that sort of
customization. The text of the line is created by the interactions with
the solution, so you can't override it.

Barb,

Thank you. I understand the issue; guess I'm back to using flowchart
shapes. Glad I found this before I invested a lot of time building db
diagrams.
