Visio 2003 randomly includes Add-Ons

I haven't used my Visio 2003 in a while. Today, when I opened a
drawing, I got several error messages that Add-Ons have been disabled
because the security setting is on "High".

I didn't know any of those add-ons.

Looking under Extras / Add-Ons, I saw that Visio, for some reason
unknown to me, found some EXEs in my Documents folder (which is also
the Visio start path), and simply included them as Add-Ons.
I did not find a way to manually remove them.
I changed the Add-Ons folder (to an empty folder in the Visio install
folder), but it didn't change anything.

1) How can Visio simply add executables as Add-Ons?
2) How do I remove them again?

delete the entry in the Startup path.
ditto for the addons path
(unless you actually have any addons installed)

Thanks, deleting the Start path worked.
Now, just for me to understand: Since there is an Addon path, how
exactly is the Start path related to loading of Addons?
