Visio 2003(Std) support for custom shapes/stencils

I’ve a couple of questions regarding ShapeStudio for Visio 2003…
• Should Visio 2003 be installed on the setup machine for installing
ShapeStudio ? (There seems to be some discrepancy between the download
instructions and the MSDN article on this topic.)
• Does Visio 2003 Standard edition support the use of custom shapes/stencils
developed with ShapeStudio (on Visio 2003 Professional edition)?

I apologize if these are a part of FAQ.

Any pointers in this regard is appreciated.

Thanks,

Yes, ShapeStudio requires Visio 2003 to run. Other parts of the SDK - such
using the Code Librarian viewer - do not require Visio.

Yes, custom shapes, solutions and stencils work on Visio 2003 Standard
Edition. Both editions have the same file format and same basic graphic
capability. Professional gives you additional shapes and stencils to work
with, but these are not needed for custom shapes.
