Visio 2003 Stencil / Shape Startup

Ron Diaz

When I open a visio drawing, the stencils/shape sheets are always open. How
do I turn this automatic opening feature off? Also, when I have all stencils
closed, and I open up a single stencil, it opens up a bunch of other ones. Is
there any way to change this? Thanks.

If I understand what you want to do, you want to eliminate the stencils in
the Shapes window that appear when you open your drawing. Open your drawing
and then right-click on the title bar of the Shapes window (right-click on
the word "Shapes"). Then choose Close All Stencils. Then save your
drawing.

The next time the drawing is opened you will see an empty Shapes window.
