Visio 2003 upgrade error 1326

Office 2003 Pro is installed on my C: drive. Due to space concerns I
installed Visio 2003 on an external hard drive J:. The un-upgraded version of
Visio 2003 works fine. When I try to upgrade to SP1 or SP2 it gets about 60%
done and I get an Error 1326. It appears it can not find certain DLL files
located on the C: drive. What should I do.
