Visio 2003 will not open an existing Visio 2003 file

I am unable to open an Visio 2003 existing files. Visio lauches OK, I can
create a new file, but not open an existing file. My other PCs have Visio
2000, which does not recognize the 2003 format.

Any ideas??

The file format changed between Visio 2002 and Visio 2003, so Visio 2003
formatted files can not be opened in Visio 2002 or Visio 2000. Visio 2003
does allow you to save in Visio 2002 format so these files can tyhen be
opened by Visio 2000 or Visio 2002. Of course, you may lose information if
your drawing uses any of the Visio 2003 features that are not saved in the
Visio 2002 format.

Hi John,

Thanks, but this is not my problem. I can launch Visio 2003 just fine. When
I try to open a Visio 2003 file, however, the program locks up. My other
computers have Visio 2000 on them, which cannot open Visio 2003 files. So, at
the moment I can't open or access files created in Visio 2003. Other than
uninstalling Visio 2003 and reinstalling it on my main PC or uninstalling
Visio 2000 and installing Visio 2003 on my laptop, can you think of any other
workaround?
