I wanted to share something that might save someone a lot of frustration. We
loaded office and visio on our new Asus X83VB with no problem.
Unfortunately, the machine died and we had to replace it. The new unit
loaded office OK but would not load Visio. It would load part way and then a
message came up saying, "rolling back installation" and the installation
would fail. We found no help on the web and eventually tried uninstalling
office and installing Visio first. It installed no problem and Office
installed afterward with no problem also. I was tipped off by a thread
somewhere where it was mentioned that Office has a nasty habit of deleting
files it thinks you won't need that end up causing problems in other
Microsoft installations.
