What is the difference in selecting a stencil of US Units verses metric?

What is the difference in selecting a stencil of US Units verses metric?

As Al said, it is all inches under the hood. The big difference is that the
shapes are designed for the units involved. The metric shapes are set to
align to a metric grid and use metric paper sizes. You can change the paper
size and use metric units. In Canada, using metric is standard, but the
paper sizes are in the US style (letter & legal)
