Fahad

Dear;

I installed on my Windows vista comuter. I have visio 2007 installed and
..net framework 3.5 as well. also i installed MBSA 2.1 as a requirement.

when I opened the visio 1st time, it closed automatically. when I opened it
the 2nd time, I got this error:
" Visio experienced a serious problem with the 'visio 2007 connector for
mbsa' add-in. If you have seen this message multiple times, you should
disable this add-in and check to see if an update is available. Do you want
to disable this add-in?"

in the event viewer, the following error is logged:
" .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.3053 - Fatal Execution Engine Error
(66D35E00) (80131506)"

when I disable the add-on, visio works normaly. when I enable it, it close
automatically.

under the Trust Center --> Add-ins: the following add-in is disabled:
visio 2007 connector for mbsa (mbsaaddin_s.dll)

any help to solve this problem is appreciated.

I haven't seen any issues with .NET Framework 2.0 or 3.5 and that MBSA
connector. But I've only installed it on Vista and I'm not sure what version
of Windows you have. Note the minimum requirements on the Download Center
here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...21-9c2c-4287-9157-49c1205e08ef&DisplayLang=en
in the Readme list XP, 2003, and Vista as the supported operating systems.
It also lists the Professional edition of Visio 2007 is required (even
though you only need to create a Basic Network Diagram and a server shape to
get the add-in functionality).

The three actions I can think of to try to remedy the issue would be to
first run a repair on Visio from Add/Remove Programs (or run Office
Diagnostics by going to Start/All Programs/Microsoft Office/Microsoft Office
Tools, and run Microsoft Office Diagnostics), if that doesn't resolve the
issue try repairing the Microosft Office Visio 2007 Connector for MBSA in
Add/Remove Programs. And if that doesn't resolve the issue try repairing
..NET Framework 3.5 from Add/Remove Programs.

If you're still seeing the issue after those actions could you reply back
with the version and service pack of Windows and the service pack of Visio
2007 along with the build number under Help/About... in Visio (looks like
12.0.xxxx.yyyy). Also, any other add-ins listed in Tools/Trust
Center.../Add-ins would be helpful.

Dear Aaron

I really appreciate your help...

I followed the steps you mentioned but it didn't work. Visio prompt me to
disable the Visio 2007 Connectoe for MBSA.
here is the information you requested:
I'm using windows vista Business Edition with SP1. also I am using Visio
Professional Plus 2007 (12.0.6300.5000) with SP1 MSO (12.0.6320.5000)

I have the following Add-ins Installed and all of them are working fine:
1- PSScriptTool COM Add-in
2- Rack Server Virtualization
3- Send to Bluetooth
4- Visio Connector for Disk Space Monitoring
5- Visio Connector for Software Upgrade Assessment
6- VisioExchangeConnector

Could you try uninstalling the add-in from Programs and Features in the
Control Panel and re-download and install. If you're still experiencing the
problem try disabling all add-ins except for the MBSA Connector and restart
Visio, that way we can rule out other add-in conflicts.

If you still have the problem check Problems Reports and Solutions > View
Problem History (in Control Panel, System and Maintenance category) for the
crash (if you're getting that add-in error it's likely there was a crash).
Under the Product column in View Problem History look for the name of the
add-in (Microsoft Office Visio 2007 Connector for MBSA), if there are any
for that add-in in the list see if there are any that have Report Sent
under the Status column, if there is double-click on that item and see if
there's a bucket ID, if there is reply with that bucket ID. Also, if there
was a crash there should be an event logged in the Application Log in
Control Panel, Administrative Tools.

As always, you have the option of contacting support services here at
Microsoft and opening a support incident either by calling 800-MICROSOFT or
online at http://support.microsoft.com/oas, charges may apply depending on
the type of license (retail, OEM, volume) of Visio you have.

Hi Aaron Rykhus

I disabled all other add-ins except (Microsoft Office Visio 2007 Connector
for MBSA), the I closed visio and opened it again and every thing works fine.
all i will do is enable the add-ins one by one and see which one conflict
with (Microsoft Office Visio 2007 Connector for MBSA).

any other idea from you side, is highly appreciated.

thanks for you support

Hi

the conflict came from PSScriptTool add-in. when I disabled it, the Visio
2007 connector for MBSA works fine.

I'm not familiar with the PSScriptTool add-in. That error you got indicates
there was a crash with the MBSA add-in and if that's the case there will be
crash details in the Application Log. Also shows in the Problem Reports and
Solutions, View Problem History section. If the crash report was sent there
should be a bucket ID that might be helpful for us to analyze the crash
data on our end. If you find the bucket ID in the app log for the crash
please post it in a reply.
