visio 2007 - drag-drop symbols not working at all

I have an acvtivated, evaluation version of visio-2007.
I cannot drag and drop any symbols into a drawing.
The cross-hairs symbol appears but dragging a symbol does nothing.

Is this a known bug or a limitation of my 30-day trial?

Sounds like an installation problem. The 30 day trial does not have limited
functionality.
