I uninstalled the Visio 2007 but it doesnt remove completely.

I have an application with that has visio control 11.0,.it works fine
ofcourse . now i unstalled the visio 2003 and installed visio 2007.
Now again I uninstalled visio 2007 and installed visio 2003. when i
run my application (that was working fine in visio 2003), There is no
events working for the drawing.more surprisingly when i checekd the
version of control it was 12.0.

I dont know how can i remove the Visio 2007 completely.???

without scanning your system to investigate what you have said it is hard to
say, however, you may have uninstalled the code but failed to take the
reference from your application. If your compiler doesn't flag the reference
to the module as being gone, then you might want to consider removing the
directory where the application was installed.

You may also need to use your MS Office suite CD and "repair" the Office
installation.

I had to do that after un-install of Visio 2007 trial to restore MS Office
functions like MS Picture Manager.
The "repair" took about 20 minutes and never told me what it fixed but
little app programs worked again (they broke when Visio 2007 was
un-installed)

thanks guys.. infact i had done the 'repair' option in visio 2003, it
ran but problem was still there. well i also know if you have both
the versions of Visio. either of them can be active at one time. when
i run my application (in presence of both version), only the active
drawing control is launched. this is how visio works with different
versions. Now the problem here is that i have removed the Visio 2007
and the only version i have is 2003. So the control launched should be
11.0, but on investigating the control is launched as 12.0. This means
even visio 2007 is uninstalled my system Active version is visio
2007.

is there any patch or something that can completely remove visio 2007
from ma system ??

got same problems and i have notice this :

When you build an application with Visual Studio on a PC that hold both
Visio 2003 and Visio 2007, the IDE choose the last version of Interop or
Drawing control. So when you distribute your application to customer that
hold only Visio 2003, you must build on a pc that hold only Visio 2003.

So what you must do if you have one PC is to uninstall Visio 2007, reinstall
Visio 2003. Open your VS project, delete the Visio Drawing Control reference
and interop in your project add it again it will use the visio 2003 (version
11.0).

Unfortunately to my knowledge there are no way to uninstall Visio Drawing
Control. I have not try to use regasm to unregister Visio OCX perhaps it
works in removing the corresponding assembly in the GAC.
