VISIO 2007 Print Stencils For Reference?

M

Marc D.

In Visio 2000 I was able to print all of the stencils and keep them in a
binder for reference. I believe that there was an Add-on or Macro which
provided this function. Can I do this in 2007? I can't find anything in
Help or the Knowledge Base.

Thanks!!

Hi Marc,

I think they removed that feature, hoping that the Shape Search feature
might make up for that.

I know that Sandrila's Super Utilities have a Stencil Report feature
(http://www.visio-utilities.sandrila.co.uk/)

Visimation's ShapeSource might have a tool as well:

This was discussed previously.

My old pre-MS Visio 4.1 Technical had a small add-on "Stencil Report
Wizard.EXE" and associated template "Stndoc.VST". It works well with all
later versions of Visio including Visio 2007 Beta.

I asked in this newsgroup in Nov 06 whether MS would haul me through courts
if I made those two small files available by way of a link posted in this MS
newsgroup. A respected MVP suggested there would be little problem.
Further, the Microsoft site:
http://www.microsoft.com/mspress/books/sampchap/5024b.aspx.
indicates that for Visio 2002, the Stencil Report Wizard will no longer be
included, but "may be available as a Web download". Since Microsoft clearly
intended the files to be freely available, they are here (zipped 24kB):

Interesting, Chris. I've searched but don't have that file on my system
(running XP Prof SP2, Office 2002, Visio 2003 & 2007 Beta, Corel Office
Suite X3, Corel Draw X3, Corel Paint Shop Pro X3, Corel Designer Technical
12, IE7, Firefox 2.0.0.1, Kaspersky Internet Security Suite 6.0 etc etc etc
etc) - maybe I'm pure of heart and have no need for VBRUN300.dll .... or
maybe it's because I'm Australian .....
:)

Anyway, the Stencil Report Wizard has worked fine on all versions of Visio.
However, those interested to try it may like to give feedback.

Also, I moved the files from the previous location (I cancelled that post).
It's now here:

Paddy, Chris:

Thanks for excellent replies. I really appreciate it. I have a tendency to
mix and match stencils in my flowsheets and having a single reference book is
really helpful. I'll let you know if I run into a snag.

Thanks again!!
