Visio 5.0 diagrams in Visio 2003?

I'm considering buying a copy of Visio 2003, but I need to know if it can read diagrams created in Visio 5.0. I don't mind if it converts them to a new format, but I don't want to have to redraw everything

Yes. All Visio versions are backward-compatible. Not only drawings, but
also stencils, if you had produced any of your own.
