Visio 5 files opened in Visio 2002 don't appear correctly

We've recently upgraded from Visio 5 to Visio 2002 and any files created in
the earlier version aren't appearing correctly when opened in the newer
version.
Any fixes, etc available?

Perhaps you can describe what kind of drawings you have and what items do
not appear correct.
