Since the upgrades involve major changes, rather than a few patches, there
is a cost associated with obtaining an upgrade. Anywhere that sells the
retail version of Visio will also sell the upgrades.
Up until Visio 2003 was released on Oct 21st of this year, Visio 5 was the
oldest version of Visio that still qualified for an upgrade. If you can find
a retail outlet that is still selling the the Visio 2002 upgrade, you will
be able to upgrade. If not, you will have to buy a new version.
If you do find a copy of the Visio 2002 upgrade, contact Microsoft to see if
you qualift for a free upgrade to Visio 2003. From August till the end of
November anyone buying the Visio 2002 upgrade was qualified to receive a
free (except for S&H) upgrade to Visio 2003.
Good Luck.
