Visio and Excel/Matlab integration?

Hello,

I am trying to integrate Visio with either Excel or Matlab. I have
networking diagrams that need to be generated on demand.

Network node information (such as physical location and system type, ie.
source, router or sink) would be entered either into Matlab or Excel. I would
then like Visio to plot the network routing based on the inputted information.

Does anyone know if this integration would be possible, and which
language/tool you would suggest?

I forgot to mention that I am using Visio 2003. Do you have any examples for
that version?

What I sent should work in v2003, it doesn't use anything unique to v2007.
v2007 Pro added a lot of data connectivity options which is why I suggested
it. If you're starting at v2003 there is a lot more code to write, although
MSDN library (office developer) has a lot of examples of integrating with
the other office products.
