Visio-auto connect on but all of a sudden my shapes don't turn red

When using Visio, my shapes turn red as I use the connector tool and connect
shapes to shapes. After I've been working with the document, all of a sudden
the auto connect does not work. Shapes that have the autoconnect still are
connected, but any new shapes don't get it. Any arrows I draw don't get
associated with any shapes. If I move the shape, the arrow stays where it
is.

I have Enable AutoConnect turned on under Tools/Options/General. Any
suggestions of why it stops working?

Verify that gluing is enabled: menu bar > tools > snap & glue.

You didn't say, or it wasn't clear, if shapes that were glued have remained
glued?
