Just wondering if various Visio functions be launched from the Windows
Command Prompt ?
I am considering the possibility of running a DOS batch file to DISCOVER &
DISPLAY various network segments.

A batch file isn't the best way to automate Visio tasks. Better to use
VBScript or another language that can access COM/ActiveX objects:

cases different to VBScript but a good start to see what is possible.
