I'd like to see the following functionality in Visio:
1. Select a start point and end point in a flowchart; these two points do
not need to be on the same page, but must be seamlessly connected (thus via
off-page references if not on the same page).
2. Ask Visio to calculate the # of possible routes between these two points.
3. Visio returns the # of possible routes; a zero response indicates a break
in the chain.
Additional related functionality:
- Visio reports dead ends which lie between these two points.
- Visio provides a list of junctions ordered by # of variations created by
that junction's placement.
This would be very helpful in generating test cases. One can imagine visual
highlighting techniques which would communicate this data even more
effectively.
I use Visio 2000 SR1 6.0.2072.
