Visio Custom Dictionaries

Hello All,

I am using Visio 2002 Standard and I have a lot of
techinical words in my visio document, however when I try
to add the words to CUSTOM.DIC it does not add the words
to the dictionary

So, I have created a custom dictionary to the root (c:\)
of my hard disk drive called VISIO.DIC, and reloaded
Visio, but again when I click add and then add the words
to the dictionary only the first word added appears.

Is there a known solution to this or is this a "design"
issue, also I thought it might be worth mentioning that
eveyone on this computer has write access to both
CUSTOM.DIC and VISIO.DIC

I have changed the registry to tell Visio 2002 that the
key labelled "Main Dictionary" has pointed to VISIO.DIC
and the CUSTOM.DIC location, this has not helped either.

I was wondering if a macro in the document could cause
this, but there are no Macros present in the document,
does anyone know if there is a KB Alert for this issue?

This problem does not occur on new documents and I cannot
restart the Visio document as it is very complicated....

Can anyone help me???

The custom dictionary might be malformed in some way - e.g. badly formatted
content. I don't know if Visio allows language tagging, but it could be that
you have a custom dic set for one language, and text tagged another way. Do
you have Word installed as well? If so, can you add words to either of these
files from Word?

I don't know if Visio can handle multiple custom dictionaries. Word is the
only application in the Office suite that I *know* can do this.

Are you using documented registry entries for the custom dictionary? If so,
can you point to online documentation?
