visio diagrams in word

When embedding Visio (2003) diagrams into Word (2000 SP3), either by cutting & pasting or inserting object, the symbol fonts (in my case Greek letters) dont display or print properly. When double-clicking the embedded object, the symbol still displays correctly in Visio. Pasting the diagram as a picture works, but this defeats the purpose of OLE.
