Microsoft Office Visio® 2003
Some of you have asked, "How can I import directory services information
(such as an existing Active Directory® directory service structure) with
Visio 2003." Unfortunately, the short answer is that you can't.
This feature was available in the Microsoft Visio Enterprise Network Tools
add-on to Microsoft Visio 2002 and Microsoft Visio 2000 Enterprise Edition,
but it was not carried forward into Visio 2003.
Based on customer feedback, we invested our resources in improving Visio's
other network diagramming tools and in developing new features for a broad
cross-section of customers, like the ability to track comments or publish
diagrams to a Microsoft SharePoint® workspace. The network diagramming
improvements in Visio 2003 include a new rack diagramming template, a new
library of network diagramming shapes with a more up-to-date look and a
consistent set of custom properties, and three new predefined reports for
extracting data from your network diagrams.
