In Visio database design, when a column is updated in the source/parent
"Database Properties" dialog box, the name and attributes are not updated in
the foregin/child table.
Example:
1. Enter Visio Enterprise Archtiect (v11.4301.6568).
2. Create a database diagram.
3. Create 2 entity shapes to represent the tables.
4. In one of the tables create a column/field.
5. Create a primary/foregin key (parent/child) relationship between the two
tables/entities.
6. Change the name of the column in the parent table.
Notice the name of the column did not change in the child table. This
problem is the same for all attributes in the parent table not being
replicated to the child table. Updateing other attributes like data type and
identity has the same problem.
This problem is will make diagrams false, inaccurate unless manually
corrected.
Thank you.
