Visio doesn't display long stencil names, only the short names

After uninstalling and then reinstalling Visio 2007, some of the shape
stencils are being displayed using the filename of the stencil rather than
the description/title of the stencil. I next tried running a repair from
"Add/Remove Programs", but it didn't help.

For example, when you click on the toolbar shapes icon, you would see ADO_U
instead of the title "Active Directory Objects".

How do I get Visio to display the long names instead of the short names?

Thx Kevin

Was there a problem with Visio that triggered your need to remove /
reinstall the program? Can you share some more info about OS version/SP
level, languages (OS or Visio) installed, etc.? What version / language of
Office (if any) is installed?
Do you have Visio installed on a local hard drive? Is the drive encrypted
or unusual in any way?

The language area is the most likely problem source, since Visio localizes
the stencil names based on things like Regional settings, etc. If you have
any special Windows settings, you could try changing them to a more generic
set up, for instance. Similarly, if you have Visio English with a language
MUI installed, try setting the Office language settings to an alternate
language choice.
