Visio Editions

I use Visio's API to automatically generate diagrams from my
application.

Since testing/verification is tedious, I was wondering if it's
necessary to test the different editions (Standard, Technical,
Professional, etc) for each release, or is it safe to assume that if
it works with the Standard edition, it will work with other editions
in the same release?

Is there a Microsoft Knowledge Base article (or other statement)
regarding this question?

Thanks for any help.

We do similar automatic diagram generation and only test in-house with
Visio Standard, but then a friend (and customer) in the next town has
EA, always wants the latest version we release and has never reported
a problem.
We use a script language for automated testing and can perform all our
tests in about 45 minutes, checking the generated diagrams takes
another 20 minutes.

What you are subtley saying is that you also test different versions as well
as different varieties.
(VEA 2003, the latest and greated, is actually Visio 2002)

Indeed, we test here with Visio 2000 and 2003 (both Standard), on top
of this many customers use the various non-English versions of Visio,
various problems have shown up using these versions but are,
hopefully, now fixed. At least, no problems have been reported for
over 6 months.
