Is there an Enterprise version of Visio based on the 2003 engine (with
the ability to Generate and Update databases) on the horizon?
I began having terrible problems with Visio 2000 Enterprise (it would
just vanish whenever I click the Change button to change the data type
of a column), so I figured I needed to upgrade. I could not find an
Enterprise edition of either Visio 2002 or Visio 2003, so I got the
best I could, Professional.
I've now come to understand (correct me if I am wrong) that Visual
Studio .NET 2003 Enterprise Architect comes with Visio 2003 Enterpirse
edition. But from other postings it appears that this is really based
on teh Visio 2002 engine/file type. And it seems the ONLY way to get
it is to buy Visual Studio .NET 2003 Enterprise Architect.
I am desperately needing to restore the functionality I had with Visio
2000 Enterprise to Generate and Update databases (SLQ 2000). Any clues
appreciated, including any ideas about fixing the error I get in Visio
2000 now.
