visio error on refreshing all shapes simultaneously

hi,i'm using visio 2003
i can right click and refresh individual shapes linked to excel but get an
error that "the table ('table name') is not specified i the odbc data
source".....please help me out......

Have you created a named DSN ?
If you just use the Excel default then you will always get asked.

yes David....i've tried that....the funny thing is that this worked on my
very first visio drawing(the separate dsn thing) but after that every other
attempt has thrown up these errors.....and the weird part is that it works
fine for updating databases but throws up the problem only while refreshing
all the shapes simulataneously....and i've tried all possibilities with
different dsn types like file source,etc(although i doubt that to be the
problem)................is there anything wrong with either of the s/w (excel
or visio) perhaps??
