My PC has a Matrox P750 video card that supports 3 monitors (triplehead) with
a resolution of 3840 x 1024 that stretches the desktop over the 3 screens. I
recently downloaded Visio 2007 and after the install it would fail to start.
I would constantly get the message "visio encountered a problem and needs to
close" - I tried several things to get rid of this prob (cleaned the
registry, re-downloaded the program, removed old versions of office, etc.)
but nothing worked.
When I changed the resolution on my system to 640 x 480 (using only one
monitor) the program would start without problem. While visio was open i
changed the resolution back to 3840 x 1024 and again there were no problems.
However once I closed visio and tried to re-open it (at the 3840 x 1024
resolution) I would get the same error message (visio encountered a problem
and needs to close) and the program would fail to start. I have downloaded
other programs from office 2007 and do not have the same problem - it seems
to be limited to visio.
