Visio file becomes corrupt after power outage

Hi,

A Visio file became corrupt after a power outage. Is still has a .vsd
suffix, however when you try to open it in Visio a message appears "cannot
open the file because it's not a Visio file".

Help!

Is there a funny-named file in the same directory as the file in question?

For example, "Bob.vsd" has a temporary file named "~$$Bob.~vsd" that is
open while editing. You might have to change your file viewing options in
Explorer > Tools > Folder Options to show hidden files.

You might be able to recover your file from this temp file.

Hope this helps,
