Visio Fill problem

Steve

When using the "Var. Circ. spray head" object from the
Irrigation stencil, I can perform a color fill (eg. blue
for water) when it is 360 degrees. When I change the
coverage to 90deg. and do the same fill, it does not work!

What am I doing wrong ?

Looks like there may be a problem with that shape.

The shape contains two geometry shapes but only one shape is visible at a
time. If the setting is to 360 degs, the first geometry shape is visible and
it draws a circle. If the setting is not 360 degs the second geometry shape
is visible and it draws a segment of a circle. It appears that the second
geometry shape has an inappropriate value for NoFill. You can fix this by
changing the NoFill value for the second geometry shape.

I'll check this out in Visio 2003 and try and get it fixed.

Yes the beta version. I thought someone may want feedback
to fix it (if it was a problem) before RTM.

The NoFill is in the first line of the Geometry section of the shapesheet.

I posted the problem as a bug and we will see if it gets fixed for Visio
2003.

I did play with the gradient fill patterns and setting the spray pattern for
a full circle to a circular pattern that ranges from dark blue to light blue
and then set the transparency of the fill to 50% gives a nice effect. You
can still see the site plan, but you can "see" the water coverage. The
partial circle will require changes to the type of fill pattern when the
angle of coverage is reduced.

The same effect can be applied to the strip irrigation, but currently there
is no circular gradient fill centered on a point in the middle of the side.

Hi John,
Thanks for that, however, when I display the shapesheet
(wow, never seen that before) there is no Geometry section
displayed and if I do View/Sections, the Geometry section
is ticked but greyed out. Am I in a "learner mode" or
something?
