visio from database or spreadsheet

what tools are available for those that aren't .net or c++ programmers
to allow a database or spreadsheet to be the input object for a visio
diagram?

Visio has a database wizard that allows you to connect shapes and their
properties to data in Excel or databases. I believe this also includes a
"catalog" mode, where a whole set of shapes can be generated with each value
in a table, but I haven't checked this for a while.

Also, the Org-chart wizard allows the creation of org-charts from
databases...
