Visio hangs when creating Database diagrams.

Hi all,

Well the title says it all. When ever I try to create a database diagram
from either the Template View or the via the File menu Visio hangs. I've
got Visio Pro 2003 (SP2) (11.5509) via an Action Pack Subscription.

I can create other documents but not database diagrams, has anyone got
any suggestions?

Do you use any printer like Epson Stylus C80 or C82 as the system default printer? If yes, set a different printer as the
default printer and then try to use Database modelling diagrams. It may help to resolve the issue.

Well I changed my default printer to use the Kyocera Mita KM-6230 but
this made no difference as the application still hangs, so I'm still no
further forward.

However what I failed to mention was the fact that my OS is Windows XP
Pro x64 would this have anything to do with this?

Not sure why this works, but: disable your print spooler (you can re-enable
after the DB diagram is started): Control Panel [Classic View],
Administrative Tools, Services, Print Spooler . . .

I'm pretty sure I found this solution on these boards but can't seem to now.
