Visio Help Pls?

I am new to Visio. I have several questions and can't seem to find answers
to. It is hard to find books on Visio 2003. I hope you can help.

I have an org chart that I need to pubish to company website. I am trying
to understand how this works. According to Visio 2003, I can save as webpage
and when I do this I get a webpage to view. If I were to publish this page,
I would need acces to publishing to my Company's Website. Do I need any
other programs to be able to pubish? For instance Unix? or Dreamweaver?
What are the steps when publishing an org chart? Can someone else publish
the org chart from Visio if that person does not have a full rights to Visio?

Also, if and when I publish to Company's website can a user run a report?

I have an org chart that I need to pubish to company website. I am trying
to understand how this works. According to Visio 2003, I can save as webpage

What you get is a framework with some javscript and images of the pages that gives you a
standalone system that allows easy navigation between the webpages.

However, if you only have one page then this might be total overkill. The minimum you need
is to just save the page as an image (GIF or PNG), just this image can be accessed via the
web, you don't even need a holding page for it. It can be accessed typically as:
http://www.mywebsite/orgchart.gif

If I were to publish this page, I would need acces to publishing to my Company's Website.

You would need details of how to upload, typically the FTP server name, account and
password. In many cases you will not be able to get this, but you will be able to give the
file(s) to someone to upload for you.

Do I need any other programs to be able to pubish? For instance Unix? or Dreamweaver?

No (except maybe an FTP client, look at Filezilla).

Can someone else publish the org chart from Visio if that person does not have a full rights to Visio?
No.

Also, if and when I publish to Company's website can a user run a report?

You can save as a web page directly to your web server if you have a drive
mapping, otherwise, you will need a program to FTP the files to the server.
In eithr case, you will need write permissions on the server.

There are FTP programs for all platforms, so UNIX is not required.
DreamWeaver has FTP built in, but many people prefer to use a separate
application such as WP_FTP.

Other users will need Visio and access to the data to generate the web pages
and reports, but will only require a browser to view them.
