visio installation stops broadband from working

I am trying to reinstall a lattude d400 laptop with windows and office and a
broadband connection as it is used at home and at work .Win2k was installed
first and connected to a network then broadband was installed and tested .
then office was installed fine . After finishing off with Visio pro 5 the
broadband connection stopped working .any ideas??
