Visio licensing

We have Visio 2003 standard and have uninstalled it from one of our
laptops. I tried to install it on another laptop but it seems that we
have used up our licenses, or installed it too often for it to
activate in full mode. When we uninstalled it the laptop was attached
to the Internet and it was hoped this would free up one of our
licenses, but that apparently did not happen. Is this something
fixable?

Hi Jim,

Uninstalling a product that requires product activation does not
automatically "deactivate" the product. However that does not mean that you
loose the license, all you need to do to activate your license is to do a
manual (telephone) activation instead of the usual internet activation. You
will have to call the number indicated on the activation wizard and talk to a
customer service representative that will be happy to activate the product.

Based on my personal experience, after you have done a telephone activation
succeeding activations (e.g. your computer crashed and needed to re-install
windows) can be done through the internet. That's my own personal experience
but i'm not sure if that's really the case.
