Visio Most Recent Version

I have spent the last hour on the web trying to find what the most recent version of Visio is. All I can find is Version 2002 and 2003. When I do Help About in Visio, it reports Visio for Enterprise Archictects SP-2 (10.05110). Nowhere in the program nor on the web can I reconcile these two version numbers. Do I have 2002 or 2003 and what is the most recent version of Visio, I hear there is a version 11 out?

Thank you.

Hi Rob,

You have a version of Visio that comes with Visual Studio - called "Visio
Enterprise Architects" (VEA), which is included in Microsoft Visual Studio
..NET Enterprise Architect Edition

The version of Visio that is included in the one you have is Visio 2002
(also called Visio 10).

That is the most current version available of the VEA version of Visio. The
next release of Visual Studio that comes out will include a VEA that has
Visio 2003 included

Visio 11 (Visio 2003) is indeed out, but the Professional version of that
has different functionality than the VEA version of Visio (particularly with
Database Modeling functionality and Software diagraming (UML).

Here is a link that shows the difference between Visio Professional 2002 and
Visual Studio .NET Enterprise Architect (2002):
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnvisio02/html/visdbcomp.asp

And here is a link that shows the differences between Visio 2002 and Visio
2003 (What's new in 2003):

Hope that helps,
darrin.
