Visio .NET Enterprise Arch. 2003 open error

I recently installed Visio .NET Enterprise Architect 2003
along with .NET Enterprise Architect 2003. This seems to
have been a mistake as I can no longer open Visio. When I
try to open Visio I get a progress bar saying "Please wait
while visio updates it's directory cache" Then I get a
message box which says "Microsoft Visio has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience". This message box also gives me the
opportunity to either send or not send an error report to
microsoft. I've sent a couple with no apparent reply.
The message box also lets me preview the error report.
This displays a message which has more error information.
I have actually found a fix for Visio 2002 for this error -
'Mod Name sg.dll, offset 00036e8f'. I am supposed to re-
install MDAC 2.7 and a service pack (3) for Jet 4.0 and
uninstall Visio and re-install Visio. all of which I did
to no avail. If anybody has any suggestions I would
appreciate it. I would like to get Visio working again
soon!

I have the same problem. I tried installing from the CD, DVD, MSDN
subscriber downloads ... all to no avail.

So I had a look at the installation package contents !! The file dates and
times are all wrong !! Someone at MS has made a boo boo. The files are all
dated 2001 and 2002. Also the install tree has visio10 in it and all of the
files are versioned 10.x.x.x when they should be 11.x.x.x.

After the install if you have a look in Add/Remove programs you'll see its
called:

Visio .NET 2002 SR-1 or something similar !!!

I have raised an incident with the MSDN people who are looking into it ...
SLOWLY !!!

According to the MSDN subscriber downlaods it was posted on the 12 apr 2003
??????

Has ANYONE managed to install Visio.NET 2003 EA (dbl check the installed
package name first) and got it to work. If so from what media.

True. The first error report I found was dated sometime
around that date.

I also tried installing Visio from different media but
without luck. If you receive word from MS I would be happy
to know about it!
