Visio pasting to office applications

On a Dell machine we have installed Visio 2k2 professional
and Office 2k3. When we try to drag and drop a visio
shape into an office application (PP or Word) we get
an "insufficient memory" error and cannot edit or paste
the shape. We have installed in the proper order and
this was even an upgrade from Office XP as well as Visio
Standard. The error states it is either memory (has
lots), permissions (administrator). I think it may be a
OS or memory setup other than ram on the machine itself.

Hi Steve,

This does sound like an issue with the machine configuration. I'm not able
to reproduce the issue you describe with a paste or drag/drop operation.
Have you tried some troubleshooting on the machine, such as using a
different video display resolution or an updated display driver?

Thanks but I have tried trouble shooting the display. I
do recognize that this computer does have tri-monitors.
Could that be a factor? I have uninstalled and
reinstalled Office 2K3 and Visio 2K3 in that order to no
success. Page filing has been set to self manage aswell
as set to a high memory usage...both with no success.

I did manage to get it working for a short duration when I
reinstalled the clip gallary registry file from another
machine. But that failed shortly after.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I run Windows 2000 Pro and have a similar problem. When I
copy a Visio 2002 drawing and then try to paste it in Word
2003, I get the following dialog box "Word is waiting for
another application to complete an OLE action." I have
the same problem pasting into PowerPoint 2003. If I click
Ignore, the drawing pastes okay. My workaround is to
select Paste-Special and paste as WMF file. I didn't have
this problem until I upgraded from Office 2000 to Office
2003.
