Visio startup scans

This is going to be hard to explain, but here goes...

When a certain user here tries to access Visio, files open extremel
slow and the program often freezes up. After much frustration an
running filemon, it seems Visio is scanning the user's personal driv
as well as the C drive. When the user's personal drive is disconnected
Visio loads and works just fine. My question is, is there a way to tur
off this automatic file scanning so Visio would open properly, or doe
this sound like another problem? Thanks..

File, Tools and Help all enumerate the various file paths stored under Tools
/ Options.
Therefore, check that the users personal drive is not referenced in any of
the file paths.
Also, I assume that Visio is unstalled on the C drive?
