Visio Technical 5.0b won't upgrade to Visio Stnd. 2003 What to Do?

I've been using Visio Technical for a number of years. Recently upgraded to
Windows XP from Windows ME. Installed Visio Technical 5.0b on the new
computer but a message comes up this version of Visio won't work on Win XP.
So I purchased the next upgrade that works on Win XP (Visio Standard 2003).
This will not install because I'm upgrading from Visio Tehcnical 5.0b
instead of Visio 2002. This seems like a raw deal ..... Purchased MS ME,
Purchased MS Visio Tehcnical 5.0b, Purchased MS XP, Viso No longer workd so I
bite the bullet and Purchase Visio Standard 2003, but it doesn't install
becasue I need to purchase Visio 2002 .... which won't work on my coputer ?
Any suggestions ? Thanks you for the help. Jack

sounds like you did not purchase visio 2003, you purchased the upgrade which
does require you to be at v2002.

regarding technical 5.0b, I believe that it does work on XP. The issue is
you get a message from XP when you are trying to install it which can be
ignored.

Visio 5 does work under Windows XP, just ignore the warning message. The
usual policy with Visio was that the previous two versions qualify for an
upgrade. With Visio 2003 that would be Visio 2002 and MS Visio 2000 (Visio
2000 from Visio does not qualify).

The Visio Technical product has been dropped and it's special content is
part of Visio Professional.
