Visio Template Issue

At work, someone created a template for us to use for a cross-functional
business process flow chart. The problem we are coming across is that if you
try to delete a "lane", it deletes the "Edited" date that was also added at
the bottom of the page. Can someone help me to figure out how to make this
not happen?

We are using Visio 2003.
